The specific conditions of the road transport of dangerous goods for foreign vehicles in Romania

According to the Government Decision No.1374 dated the 20th of December 2000, the transport of radioactive materials in Romania has to have a transport authorization, and has to be done in packages, both subject to an approval validated by the National Commission for Nuclear Activities (761062 Bucharest, 4 Libertatii Bld., phone (+) 401-410.34.93, 337.38.07; fax (+) 401.337.38.77 or 411.14.36). The validation of the packages subject to a type approval, the authorization of the vehicle specially designated for the transport of radioactive materials, the authorization of the transport and transit of the radioactive materials, are subject to taxes and tariffs. The amount of taxes and tariffs depends on the type of the package and of the type of the vehicle. The applicants have to pay the taxes and tariffs before the transports and have to send copies of the bank transfer certified by the bank. The taxes and tariffs from the foreign legal persons applicants are cashed in foreign currency in the account of the National Commission for Nuclear Activities no. 2511.1-1089.9, opened with the Commercial Romanian Bank – S.A. – the branch of the Municipality of Bucharest. The National Commission for Nuclear Activities, together with the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Internal Affairs establish the itinerary for the road transport of radioactive materials.
