Join us from 9 to 11 May at the largest transport industry “T-Festival” in Eastern Europe

IRU partners with UNTRR for first edition of “T-Festival: Movement through Music,Trucks & Bikes” – a great opportunity to develop new business contacts and partnerships in a fun international environment while enjoying live music performances.

At the IRU, part of our mission is to demonstrate the dedication and commitment of road transport professionals worldwide to serving the economy and society, as well as exchange information, know-how and expertise among the industry and with IRU partners at all levels.

In this regard, we partnered with UNTRR to organise the first edition of the International Festival of Transporters, “T-Festival: Movement through music”, taking place from 9-11 May 2014 in the city of Jucu, in Cluj County, Romania.

We are pleased to invite all IRU Members, as well as their respective transport operators and drivers, to attend the T-Festival as a great opportunity to develop new business contacts and partnerships in a fun international environment while enjoying live music performances from the legendary T-REX, famous Romanian singer Stefan Banica Jr. and many others.

The T-Festival will bring together leading truck and trailer manufacturers, motorcycle and motorcycle equipment dealers and importers, as well as enthusiasts, to share their passion for trucks and motorcycles in an unconventional framework.

The T-Festival programme will include contests for “Most Beautiful Truck”, “Most Beautiful Bike” and “Most Efficient Romanian Transport Company”.

As a UNTRR initiative, T-Festival celebrates the establishment of the Transport Day on the 9^th of May, Saint Christopher’s Day. Saint Christopher is considered the protector and patron of travelers. The legend shows Saint Christopher helping a child crossing a river. The burden on his shoulders was very high but his faith helped him cross over. Once across the river, the child tells Saint Christopher that he is Jesus Christ and he carried on his shoulders the entire weight of the world.

Festival-goers will be able to participate in V.I.P. B2B events, where we will unveil the pilot IRU TRANSPark Mobile app designed to help transport operators and drivers locate, select and contact parking areas en route in more than 40 countries worldwide.

The T-Festival will also feature a special ECOeffect workshop, delivered by UNTRR’s IRU Academy Accredited Training Institute, to showcase the industry’s commitment to sustainable development and its pledge to decrease its CO₂ emissions by 30% by 2030. The workshop will focus on the benefits of eco-driving to strengthen transport companies’ profitability and corporate social responsibility performances.

A one-day hands-on training course will be offered to those willing to learn the latest eco-driving techniques and best practices such as anticipation, behavior and practice, to improve their “eco-score” by reducing fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, while learning how to use the ECOeffect Training System (EETS) to monitor driver performance.
